Astrological Trends for March 28 - April 3

Cross-posted from Aloha Astro

A progressive, can-do attitude prevails on Monday, March 28th, as the moon in the inventive fixed air sign of Aquarius forms a supportive sextile to the sun, which is loosely conjunct Jupiter, the planet of growth, in the cardinal fire sign of pioneering Aries. The moon is also semi-sextile to Pluto, the planet of intensity, in the cardinal earth sign of capable Capricorn, helping to ground things and make them stick. Despite the fact that the expansive nature of Jupiter in Aries is still being held in check by the opposition it makes to Saturn, the planet of restriction, in Libra, Jupiter and the sun are so well-supported today that the energy swings in favor of growth, new beginnings, and advancing personal projects. Now that the sun in Aries has moved away from the shocking and erratic energy of Uranus in Aries, the square between the sun in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn feels less extreme than it did last week, and you have also had time to integrate it into your own energy field. The changes you decide to make may be no less destructive of the older, established order, but they will be less unsettling. At lunchtime, the Aquarius moon makes a supportive sextile to Uranus in Aries and also a semi-sextile to the cluster of Neptune in Aquarius conjunct Venus and Chiron in Pisces. This is a strong humanitarian influence that encourages seeing the unity of all while honoring individuality. As Mars, the planet of physical action, moves into the later degrees of romantic Pisces, it melds its energy with Uranus, the planet of sudden impulse, which is in the early degrees of impetuous Aries. Mars conjunct Uranus is like high-octane rocket fuel when it comes to physical drive and performance and it is also a very potent sexual aspect. Flirtation and sudden attractions coincide with the warmer weather, which is bringing people outdoors to play. If you are wanting to meet someone new, head out for a walk in the park. Everyone is more inclined to act on impulse now, especially in matters of the heart.

Intelligent calm and logical order are in place on Tuesday, March 29th, as the moon in the fixed air sign of Aquarius forms a supportive, cerebral trine to Saturn in the relationship-minded cardinal air sign of Libra. You can get your Spock on as rational thinking and scientific reasoning help you untie any logistical knots in your life. People will be more open to listening and less swayed by emotions, making it an ideal day to present ideas or argue a position. The Aquarius moon is also happily exchanging energy with Jupiter in Aries, which acts like a Mary Poppins or SpongeBob SquarePants kind of energy. Do you remember the scene in "Mary Poppins" where she is decorating her room? As she unpacks her carpet bag, she pulls one improbable thing after another out of the bag. SpongeBob and Patrick have a similar scene where they imagine all kinds of impossible things while they are sitting in a large empty box. Look into your own cardboard box or carpet bag to see what improbable or impossible things you can manifest.

On Wednesday, March 30th, forming future plans and believing in your dreams is supported by the moon in the fixed air sign of Aquarius joining Neptune in Aquarius and making a sextile to Mercury, the planet of thought and communication, in the cardinal fire sign of "me first" Aries. This is a nice aspect to have in place on a day when Mercury turns retrograde. If you have been putting other people's desires before your own or thinking too little of yourself in any way, this retrograde period can help you identify your dreams and your purpose, as well as formulate plans that you can put in place when the retrograde passes. As you may know from past Mercury retrograde periods, it is best to revisit or go over old stuff but to avoid beginning new things, such as signing contracts or buying a vehicle. Because Mercury rules transportation and communication, double check appointments, plane tickets, and car safety before heading out on a trip and allow for unexpected delays when factoring your transportation time. Late this evening, when intense Pluto in earthy Capricorn forms a sextile to affectionate Venus in dreamy Pisces, the extra romantic energy that Chiron and Neptune add to the already sensitive Venus vibration puts lovers - or lovers of sensual delights - over the top. The blending of some potent earth with ultra-sensitive water makes for some deeply satisfying sex or any other physical indulgence, such as receiving a massage. Go on and have that chocolate mousse and why not sip some red wine to increase the antioxidant effects of the chocolate! :)

Will March go out like a lamb on Thursday, March 31st? Most likely, as the moon in the soft, mutable water sign of Pisces joins Venus and makes a mild semi-sextile to the sun conjunct Jupiter in Aries. I predict a day of on-and-off spring showers followed by a beautiful sunset. Things feel lighter as the square between Pluto in Capricorn and the sun in Aries fades. At lunchtime, the moon and Venus in Pisces are supporting Pluto in Capricorn with a sextile, increasing passion and deliberate direction of emotions and affection. You can use this aspect pattern for improving your love life or infusing whatever area of life you wish with extra loving energy - or both! This is very strong manifesting energy, so wish away and put your emotion into the wish. Early this evening, the moon in Pisces forms a quincunx to Saturn in Libra, helping lovers to connect in harmony or artists and dreamers to easily create what they see and feel. Later tonight, the moon also forms a semi-sextile to Jupiter in Aries, increasing your capacity for pleasure, recreation, or relaxation.

On Friday, April 1st, as the sun gets closer to Jupiter in Aries, it also enters into the opposition between Jupiter in Aries and Saturn in Libra. For Jupiter, this is like having some extra help in the corner of the boxing ring. It is partly this extra planetary support and partly the energy of a new month - in numerology, an 8 vibration of grounded success - which may make you feel more driven to make things happen or move things ahead faster. The moon in the mutable water sign of Pisces is quiet today and forms no aspects until later this afternoon when it exchanges a beneficial semi-sextile with Mercury in Aries, which facilitates an easy expressing of emotions. The nature of a Pisces moon can be paradoxical, creating laughter when there should be tears and tears when there should be laughter. A Pisces moon transit can make people just a little crazy and emotionally weird. I know the sun and Jupiter conjunct in Aries opposing Saturn in Libra would just love to pull some April Fool's pranks, especially on the prim and proper or uptight, but I really advise caution. Pranks may be a bit too much for some sensitive people today and what was meant in fun could cause pain or upset.

Lancing a boil to help it heal or receiving electrical treatments for healing purposes were the first things that came to me when I looked at the transits for Saturday, April 2nd. That doesn't mean I suggest you do those things. What I see is a symbolic representation of the energy the planets are presenting to me. The emotional moon conjunct action-oriented Mars and shocking Uranus in initiating Aries is semi-sextile inspirational Neptune in logical Aquarius conjunct healing Chiron in sensitive Pisces. This is one of those aspect configurations that is best interpreted by looking at the placement of the planets in your own birth chart. There are too many possible ways this mixed bag of energy may manifest in your own life. Doing something extreme, even if it is painful, in order to heal and change a situation for the better quickly is what the planets are influencing you to do now. Early in the evening, the moon in the cardinal fire sign of Aries forms a problematic square to Pluto in Capricorn. You, and everyone else, could feel very strongly about something and be resistant to any other possibilities. The positive side of this aspect is the strong willpower it gives you. So, if you are wanting to begin a diet or break a habit, start now. Mercury contra-parallel Neptune along with the moon, sun, and Jupiter contra-parallel Chiron increases sensitivity and the longing for romance. With the moon in impulsive Aries joining Mars and Uranus opposing Saturn in Libra, you may leap into love before looking too closely. If you already have a partner, the two of you may be wanting to stimulate your love life by doing something unusual you have never done before or something that has a risk involved, like making love in a strange place where you may get caught.

The new moon in the cardinal fire sign of Aries takes place on Sunday, April 3rd. The moon joins the sun and Jupiter in Aries and opposes Saturn in Libra. The conjunction of the moon to the sun and Jupiter creates the urge for growth and a fresh start, especially in individual endeavors, but the opposing restrictive energy of Saturn in Libra, the sign of relationships, holds some of the forward motion in check. It seems you can't go off and do your own thing without considering others. Growth in balanced increments is what the planets suggest. Mercury, retrograde, in Aries also suggests that your growth remains in the planning stage for now until Mercury turns direct on April 23rd. With Venus in Pisces still sextile to Pluto in Capricorn and Mars conjunct Uranus in Aries, today is a wonderful day to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty of spring while burning off some tension through physical activities, like gardening or sports.
