Horoscope for October 4-10

Cross-posted from Aloha Astro

Aries (March 21st - April 20th)
The energy leading up to the New Moon on Thursday may affect your dreaming, Aries. You feel a mixture of anticipation and excitement that can disturb your eating and sleeping patterns. A weak spot for your sign is the head. Headaches or alternating between feeling lightheaded or heavy and full of pressure are possible. If this happens for you, ask a silent question of yourself – “What is this about?” – and see what comes to your awareness. As I write this, a large flock of cawing crows has arrived and they are flying in clockwise circles together outside my window. Crows are messengers of Spirit for me. They have a special message for you this week. Although the New Moon in the sign of Libra will affect all the signs of the zodiac in the area of relating, it is especially significant for you because your Sun sits on the opposite side of the Aries/Libra relationship axis. The crows are telling me that not just one relationship is in need of examination or a fresh start in your life, but all your relationships from the most casual to the deeply intimate. Crows are extremely social beings. They gather in flocks. When I put food out for them, a scout crow arrives. He calls for a few more crows. Then, four crows will call to the four directions to gather in the rest of the flock. Not one crow eats or flies off with food until all have arrived. The circling of the crows represents the wheel of life and the calendar year. This New Moon is the beginning of a new year of altered awareness and interconnection for you.

Taurus (April 21st - May 20th)
Scattering of your creative energy or the distractions of friends and too much recreational activity can affect your work this week, Taurus. The New Moon brings your attention to the area of your work and your health and diet routine. Exactly what the Moon has in store for you depends on where you are at right now. There is a charming poem by A. A. Milne, the author of the Winnie the Pooh stories, that follows the daily habits of two little bears. The good bear does everything correctly, is well groomed, polite, and remembers his multiplication and grammar. The bad bear, of course, is forgetful, slovenly, and rude. As the verses unfold, good bear begins to slip and bad bear improves, much like many of us. If you have been neglectful of your relationships, yourself, and your life purpose, you may have a week of reckoning and redirection. If you’ve been the good bear, there is no need to slack off now – not when the planets are stacked up to push you strategically and powerfully to better work performance, improved health, and more fulfilling relationships.

Gemini (May 21st - June 21st)
A divine discontent with where you live or where you are presently in your life regarding romance, creativity, or business builds as the New Moon approaches this week. You know things can be bigger, better, or different, but you can’t quite see how yet. Get ready to welcome the Muse or Cupid or maybe both. A new love interest or a fresh look at your current relationship can be the creative power that puts some extra magic into all that you do. Some Twins may join forces with their partners to create a business together. Another possibility for you this week could be the decision to become a parent or add to the family. The current Libra planets stimulate and expand the best qualities of your own Sun sign. Your imagination, charm, wit, and intelligence all get a boost. You feel like you’ve been dealt a fantastic hand in a new game of cards.

Cancer (June 22nd - July 22nd)
Money spent on travel or education early in the week will prove to be well spent despite any uncertainty or skepticism a partner may voice. You can override any objections to your creative ideas for home decorating or improvement projects by demonstrating your own DIY skills and rolling up your sleeves. Dissenters join in when they see you are willing to do the work, not just give the orders. “Do what I say, not what I do,” is definitely the wrong way for you to approach anyone this week. The New Moon brings family relationships into focus for you. Fairness, harmony, an equal distribution of parenting and chore responsibilities may be discussed and a new regimen put in place. Your own relationship with yourself is important as well. You examine your core beliefs, patterns of behavior and become aware of the expressions you use daily which may be creating a life that lacks the love, abundance, and happiness you seek. How often do you say, “I am so tired of, I am so sick of, I hate, I can’t stand?” The planetary transits are turning your thoughts and words into direct commands, which bring you drama and strife or balance and bliss.

Leo (July 23rd - August 22nd)
Money and business issues have been a focus for you the last few weeks, Leo. Business partnership or business-to-business, in particular. The New Moon brings some interesting shifts in your thinking. Instead of struggling to create the ideal situation at the management level, you decide to shift your focus to how you communicate with customers or how you package and market your service, product, or ideas. It’s as if a sign appears on your forehead that says “Under New Management.” Thoughts and words of love may inspire you this week. Some Lions will meet the partner they’ve been looking for and those with partners may fall in love all over again. If you have been thinking of proposing marriage, now is the time to do it. Do you have a book you’ve always said you wanted to write? Begin your manuscript this week.

Virgo (August 23rd - September 22nd)
Your personal values and your money are up for review and a resorting of priorities this week, Virgo. Always a stickler for the details, you take your criteria for how you spend your money or time to a whole new level. You don’t want soap that cleans best – you want the soap that is best for the environment. You don’t want the best tasting coffee – you want the fair trade organic coffee. You don’t want lunch with a friend – you want lunch with a friend who doesn’t try to convert you to their religion or political party. And you definitely don’t want a partner who doesn’t take their own money, personal values, and physical well being as seriously as you take your own. Someone who thinks you will continue to look the other way or be manipulated by them won’t know what hit them when you pin them to the spot and hold them accountable. You establish new boundaries and new rules for relating this week.

Libra (September 23rd - October 23rd)
A large company, a group, or a new circle of friends may invite you to join them now. The invitation comes as a result of your recent dedication to growth and excellence in your personal life and your work performance. You may spend a day or two thinking about the offer, wondering if you can do the work or be a valuable contributor. Do you feel you belong? The answer is probably a resounding “Yes!” You feel like a debutante at the ball or a student on graduation day. On the more mundane level, use the New Moon energy to help you power up your physical image now. A new hair style and a few well-chosen classic pieces for your wardrobe will give you the panache to make a powerful first impression. The planets put you on the receiving end of romantic overtures, but I sincerely doubt your own advances would be rebuffed if you feel like making them.

Scorpio (October 24th - November 21st)
A fear of “What if?” can prevent you from taking a risk or expanding creatively now. Unfortunately, you are currently following the thought in the direction that leads to the past and what has been – not the future and what could be. The New Moon energy brings you to a self-imposed spiritual isolation and vision quest. You wrestle with the light and dark, high and low, good and bad, right and wrong of everything you feel and believe until the New Moon energy culminates and breaks. The days following the New Moon bring you to a carefully-chosen middle path where you are able to integrate the things that work and release those that do not. The past steps down and you face the future with calm acceptance.

Sagittarius (November 22nd - December 21st)
Movies may have messages for you this week, Sagittarius. I recommend The Matrix, Sliding Doors, and the most recent Alice in Wonderland. The planets have been nudging you in the direction of change, growth, dreams, and adventures. Have you been listening? A defining moment of choice may arrive on the heels of the New Moon. Will you choose the red pill or the blue pill? It’s all an illusion anyway. So, why bother choosing at all? One choice enables you to be the active projector creating the illusion. The other choice limits you to being the passive screen receiving an illusion someone else has projected for you. Everything you want, you carry within you already. You choose the script and scenery. Whatever you choose, you will get more of what you decide you want. The alternative choice becomes more difficult to attain the further away you move from this deciding moment.

Capricorn (December 22nd - January 19th)
You are wise to be cautious on matters of business and money, Capricorn. Not all things being presented to you are complete representations or verifiable fact. Some ideas have merit, but others are risky investments. When presented with a business offer or possible employment opportunity, look beyond the presenter. What do other business associates, employees, and customers think of the company? If you are the owner of your own business, do you treat your customers and employees properly? Your personal reputation and your integrity are extremely important to you. The New Moon energy for you makes me think of the expressions “Birds of a feather flock together” and “You are known by the company you keep.” Power, popularity, friendship, abundance, career enjoyment, and satisfaction with life follow your choice to align with honesty, excellence, equality, and integrity in all you do.

Aquarius (January 20th - February 18th)
I think it’s time to put on some airs, Aquarius. Your wealthy self is just itching to bust loose, but first you have to be ready to bluff your way around a bit until the check arrives. Believe your own exclusive special-ness is being offered for a limited time only to everyone and they are eagerly waving their fists full of money at you while begging, “Me, me! Pick me!” Imagine that you have so many clients, customers, or fans that they will pay a premium to have your valuable time and expertise all to themselves, because your special-ness rubs off on them and makes them special, too. What you know and how you share that knowledge is extremely valuable. The New Moon highlights your unique ability to understand relationships. You can use that skill to guide others through relationship issues. Writing and social networking help you grow financially.

Pisces (February 19th - March 20th)
The merging or the separating of a love or business relationship is your focus this New Moon week, Pisces. Another possibility may be that you receive news of a legacy or inheritance that requires your attention and involvement. Paperwork and legalities accompany “What’s mine is yours” or “What’s mine is mine” negotiations. Any of these scenarios can bring a new beginning and a radical departure from your old life following the New Moon. Some Fishes may go one step further than most and merge their lives with a spiritual group, ashram, or commune that requires an aspirant to turn money and material goods over to the community before becoming a member or devotee. The planets currently suggest an emerging interest in a more philosophical or metaphysical view of life coupled with a desire to march to a different drummer, which could be a strong influential factor in your lifestyle choices. You would not be the first person to leave all behind for a higher calling. If you are getting married this week, you are acutely aware of the promise you make to your partner to forsake all others and how significantly this changes your life.
