On Friday, May 7th, the Moon moves into the spiritual water sign of Pisces and is blending its energy harmoniously with Neptune, Chiron, Pluto, and Mercury. The connection to the collective is strong today and healing energy can be directed to the planet’s current challenge of crude oil pouring out into the Gulf waters of the United States. Neptune rules both the ocean and oil, Chiron has healing energy, Pluto has the energy of transformation and intensity, and Mercury is the mind and ideas. Let’s all see the ocean waters clean and healthy in our minds, not just in the current area of crisis, but all over our planet. Hot, hot, hot! Saturday, May 8th, sizzles with potent sexual energy that can stimulate your lower chakras. The Pisces Moon engages the Sun, Mars, and Venus and you may find yourself aware of a heightened physical sensitivity that stimulates all your senses. Looking at the declinations, I see a powerful blending of the Sun, Mars, and Pluto that can best be described as rocket fuel. Whatever you do today physically or creatively, you can now do with more awareness, zeal, and total involvement. It is a day for you to be fully present and to reach for the best and the most in all that you do.
Well, you can’t channel so much powerful planetary energy for long without feeling some effect. Sunday, May 9th, may feel like the aftermath of a tornado for some of you. Yesterday’s energy was kind of like what a pile of Halloween candy is to a kid. After the sugar rush comes the crash – but the child still wants more candy! You may find your inner desire to play and explore today – despite having a high-octane Saturday – is still going strong, but the reality of chores and the practical concerns of daily life are difficult to ignore while the Moon conjuncts Jupiter and Uranus and opposes Saturn. The best way I see to balance this planetary energy is to arrange your time in pairings of work/reward activities. That way, chores will seem less of a drag and you won’t overindulge on the “candy.”
Monday, May 10th, the Moon moves into the initiative fire sign of Aries. You may feel the quickening of new beginnings that often accompanies an Aries Moon. Today, it is even more pronounced because Mercury is ending its retrograde and turns direct tomorrow. Other than the long-term influence of Saturn opposing the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction, which you have already integrated into your own energy field, there are no difficult or challenging aspects this Monday. In fact, you may enjoy this Monday more than most as you take care of business and feel a gentle lift in overall confidence along with a belief in everything working out just as it should.
Make a wish or a few affirmations on Tuesday, May 11th. The Moon in Aries says “I am,” and today, while the Moon is happily exchanging energy with Venus and the Sun and is contra-parallel dreamy Neptune, you might see your wishes come true. Neptune is also favorably supported by Mercury, Jupiter, and Uranus. Don’t be afraid to dream big, crazy dreams. You may have read Henry David Thoreau’s quote about castles in the air before. It is part of a larger quote, which perfectly sums up the energy of today: “I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavours to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. On Wednesday, May 12th, you may be feeling like nothing can stand in your way, and the planets agree with you! Finally, that old Mercury is done acting like Loki, the trickster, and whatever you say today gets heard and acknowledged while the Moon in Taurus is joining Mercury and is flowing happily along a Pluto power current. A pleasant Sun/Venus aspect makes everyone a little kinder today, so take a deep breath, open that throat chakra and clear up all the communication log jams that the retrograde Mercury period placed in your path. Another challenging aspect that passed this week and may have left you feeling a bit lighter and less stressed was the Sun/Mars square. Because you had to assimilate that energy for a while, the Moon/Mars square of Thursday, May 13th, may feel vaguely familiar. This Thursday’s energy patterns are similar to Wednesday’s and you will still be focused on the practical application or resolution of communication and transportation matters. The difference the Moon/Mars square may make is that you may have an emotional attachment to making things go your way. You may also feel a bit more touchy and reactive when communicating with others and your overall confidence may be less natural and more of an act. Sometimes staying on task and following through requires determination more than desire. Not all squares are negative or difficult. The energy of a square is the energy that pushes you to reach and accomplish. After this short-term transit passes, you will feel the satisfaction that comes from applying concentrated effort and seeing the results.
