I have just begun a writing “project” for a site that is about to launch.

Below is the first astrological “forecast” I have sent in as a tentative regular weekly feature. My questions, which I would love to get your feedback on, are:

Do you like this kind of a forecast better than the standard sun sign horoscope you may be familiar with as seen in a newspaper or magazine, that has a “forecast” for each sun sign for the week, or do you prefer this kind of content?

And a second question:

If you read astrological forecasts and predictions, do you do so for entertainment, diversion, information, or some other reason?

Thanks, I really appreciate your feedback and comments, and feel free to share this with any friends who might have an interest.

Here it is:

Astrological Trends for April 16-22, 2010

Here is your energy lookout for the week ahead. Like checking the weather to know how to dress, it makes good sense to check the planetary energy patterns to know how to plan your days. This forecast looks at the current transits of the planets in relation to society as a whole. Your own natal, or birth, chart is also impacted by the current transits and your own experiences this week will also be affected by your own unique chart pattern.

Friday the 16th, a strong energy pattern between Saturn in networking Virgo, Sun in initiative Aries, and a Neptune/Chiron conjunction in humanitarian-minded Aquarius in addition to a Venus/Moon conjunction in pleasure-loving Taurus smiling on Jupiter in idealistic Pisces will bring out the best in people on Friday. Get out and play, explore, connect with new people, or create new family memories. This energy spills over into Saturday the 17th, when a positive moon in talkative Gemini, Mars in creative Leo, and Pluto in enduring Capricorn can make the planning, execution, and completion of major projects flow naturally and easily. On Sunday the 18th, Moon in Gemini square to Jupiter in Pisces can remind you of any excesses you may have indulged in yesterday or you may simply feel a drop in your optimism. Mercury turning retrograde in Taurus will put the foot on the brake, as well. Monday the 19th, Saturn, Neptune, Chiron, and the Moon all turn their support and energy flow to the fiery Aries Sun. Rise and shine and make things happen today. The Monday Moon in Cancer square Saturn in Virgo may have you grumbling and complaining a bit. Sometimes work just feels like work, but at least the planetary support is there to carry you through the day to a productive conclusion. Stick to the plan while the Mercury retrograde begins to settle in for a three week visit in the methodical and stubborn energy of Taurus. The Sun moves into Venus-ruled Taurus and the Moon is in nurturing Moon-ruled Cancer on Tuesday the 20th. The feminine earth and water energy of this day and the absence of any major negative influences set the tone for a day of delight, if you choose to tune in to your emotions and senses and go fearlessly wherever they may lead you. A Venus/Neptune square and a Moon/Sun square on Wednesday, the 21st, can create the illusion that you strongly desire something you feel or believe is not within your reach. When this brief transit passes, you will find that either you never truly desired that person, thing, or situation at all or you were never without the means to attain your desire in the first place – it was all an illusion. A distinctly different energy may be felt on Thursday the 22nd. A Sun in Taurus trine to Pluto in Capricorn will intensify energy and drive, and you may feel like you shifted gears into overdrive today. But due to the Mercury retrograde and Moon and Mars conjunct in Leo being in a square aspect to Mercury, tempers may run as high as the flow of creative energy that is present. The Sun/Pluto trine on Thursday makes each and every one of us more confident in ourselves. If you express yourself too forcefully or arrogantly and trample roughshod on the feelings or ideas of others, you can expect some sparks to fly. If your exchanges with others become tumultuous, it helps to keep in mind that thunderstorms can seem wet and frightening, too, but they cleanse the air and the earth and bring a sudden boost of growth in their wake. It is actually best to allow yourself full expression on Thursday, rather than repressing any of today’s emotions or ideas – just temper your words with kindness.

Throughout this week, Uranus in Pisces opposes Saturn in Virgo. This long-term transit affects society and the planet, bringing change to form and structure and a reworking of systems and beliefs. We each feel this opposition in our own particular area of life, based on our natal charts. If you have had your chart done in the past, look to see which houses, or areas of life, transiting Saturn and Uranus occupy now and give thought to what change you can consciously bring to those areas. If you have never had your natal chart done, isn’t it time you opened your very first birthday present?
