Astrological Trends for June 18-24, 2010

Here is your energy lookout for the week ahead. Like checking the weather to know how to dress, it makes good sense to check the planetary energy patterns to know how to plan your days. This forecast looks at the current transits of the planets in relation to society as a whole. Your own natal, or birth, chart is also impacted by the current transits, and your own experiences this week will also be affected by your own unique chart pattern. I am available for general readings by phone or text chat at LivePsyche or you can make arrangements for in-depth chart readings here.

On Friday, June 18th, your optimism and belief in the impossible increases due to the Moon being parallel to Jupiter and Uranus. This emotional uplift fuels your passion and desire for something or someone as Venus in Leo is amplified by the intensity of Pluto. With idealistic Neptune being enhanced by Saturn in pragmatic Virgo and the Sun in idealistic Gemini, it seems highly probable that your dreams and desires can be brought into being. Some cautionary energy between the Sun in Gemini and Saturn in Virgo, and suppressive energy between Jupiter in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn, indicate that either you have to play by the old rules or reign in your expansive enthusiasm and channel it into hard work before you see your dream made manifest.

You may be drawn to spend time with a friend or lover on Saturday, June 19th, due to some playful impulses that are running between Venus, Mars, Pluto, and the Moon in relationship-minded Libra. Imagine a child running up to the sandbox, happy to see his or her friends and eager to join in the play. Sometimes the other children in the sandbox are receptive to the new child and play patterns shift to include the new playmate. As we all know from bitter past experience, sometimes no one else is willing to shift to include us or shares our excitement and vision for playtime. Sadly, this may be a day where, despite the best of intentions, things do not go well in the sandbox. A series of squares between several planets may have you feeling boxed in or boxed out, depending on the situation. Positive aspects between Neptune and the Sun, Neptune and Saturn, and the Moon and Chiron grant you patience and empathy and help you to see a silver lining or understand the emotional reactions of others.

With the Sun in Gemini square to Jupiter and Uranus conjunct in Aries on Sunday, June 20th, you may still be feeling thwarted or restricted in your ideas, plans, or mobility. Big, happy Jupiter is also being held back energetically by small but potent Pluto. Remember fidgeting in your seat at school, watching the minute hand on the clock slow down as it approached 3:00 and feeling like you might never see the end of the school day? That’s how your day might feel if you let the heavy energy get to you. There is some relief and mental distraction in the happy flow that occurs between the Moon in Libra and Mercury in Gemini. If you can’t be where you’d like to be in the real world, you can find an escape in the virtual world online. Connecting with friends on social networking sites, or surfing advice, dating, shopping, or celebrity gossip sites can turn a crabby day into a day of pleasant diversion.

The Summer Solstice has arrived on Monday, June 21st, and the Sun has left Gemini and entered the emotional, nurturing water sign of Cancer. A beneficial Grand Trine of water is in place on this special day between a Cancer Sun, a Scorpio Moon, and Chiron in Pisces. Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, is conjunct Chiron; however, it is in a late degree of the air sign, Aquarius. Nonetheless, Neptune’s deep spirituality and psychic impulses will be enhanced by the Grand Trine. A T-square between the Sun, Saturn, and Jupiter/Uranus is like a shadow behind the Grand Trine and supportive quincunxes between Moon/Jupiter/Uranus and Saturn/Chiron/Neptune cross in front of the Grand Trine’s center, like a shield. The geometry of planetary aspects in a chart often paints strong psychic images for me. Today shows me a medieval knight preparing to go to battle, donning armor, a crested helmet, holding a shield decorated with heraldry, and carrying a colored pennant. Today can be a pivotal moment of synthesis for you. A certainty of emotions, a conviction of set intentions, a belief in your cause, and the willingness to engage in “battle” are present for you today. You have the cosmic opportunity to fortify and arm yourself by creating your own sacred ritual, committing to positive change, and affirming your true spiritual essence.

As previous forecasts have mentioned, you adjust to certain long-term transits and are more likely to feel energetic changes when new aspect patterns appear between planets, or planets move into new signs. Tuesday, June 22nd, is a quiet day compared to the complex exchanges of energy that the planets delivered to you yesterday. All the major aspects are those you have already integrated, making your day fairly routine. The Moon in Scorpio may activate dormant psychic abilities and you navigate your day best by instinct and intuition, rather than intellect. A contra-parallel between the Moon and Mercury and a parallel between the Sun and Mercury may bring a meeting and conversation between you and a person with whom you share a karmic bond. I cannot tell if this is someone you know already or someone new, but you will have that “I know you” feeling when you are with them.

Wednesday, June 23rd, begins with the Moon engaging many planets, increasing the frequency of both pleasant and challenging emotional events over the course of your day. Mercury is also activated today by the Moon, Saturn, and Neptune and you may find it imperative to express your ideals and emotions now. Today’s blessing is harmony between Venus and Mars and Venus and Pluto, increasing your sex appeal and libido. A planned time out for romance can alleviate the tension that is building as a result of today’s busy aspects and the pressure of the Moon waxing to full a few days from today. It appears that you put new energy programs into place on Monday, followed by a day of integration on Tuesday (the calm before the storm), and today may be a day of shakedowns in your life. World events in the news may also reflect this “all shook up” state today. As the Moon enters Sagittarius during the day, you will be motivated to discover the truth behind events in the news and in your personal life. Exaggeration and overreaction are both possible today – count to ten, look and think again.

Two T-squares dominate the day on Thursday, June 24th. I feel that they have a greater effect on the world as a whole because they involve the outer, transpersonal planets; however, their placement in your individual natal chart and how they affect you personally can only be determined by looking at the transits to your own natal chart. A summation of the energy as it affects everyone would be a fed-up feeling, disgust – even rage – at the current global situations concerning the environment and the economy. We may be feeling powerless and blocked at every turn, thinking there is nothing we, personally, can do to change things. On the bright side, Neptune, the planet of faith and inspiration, is conjunct Chiron (healing) and in supportive energy flow with Saturn (structure) and Mercury (ideas, speech) and Sun (self), so no one is giving up and there is enough strength and endurance in the supportive aspects to put a few dents in those T-squares. Perhaps some situations must become totally intolerable before revolution and change can take place. The Beatles told us all we need is love, and today’s Sagittarius Moon trine Venus in Leo will make you second that statement. Love today can be exciting and fun. If you have no lover to share the fun with, tune out from life’s bigger worries by doing whatever you consider to be fun. The things that make you joyful can help keep your personal vibration where it needs to be now – high!
