"Why Shamanism Now?" with Christina Pratt

The Cycle of Transformation: Part One

What if you had a chance to hit the restart button on your authenticity? To peel back all the layers of trauma to reveal the magnificent human being you came here to be? What would you risk pursuing if you knew you would be held by a community to love and support you through the entire process?

This week guest host Langston Kahn, senior teacher at the Last Mask Center, will interview students involved in the first year of the Cycle of Transformation, a 4-year training process offered which begins with a week-long residential workshop, Masks of Illusion and the Authentic Self. They will explore together what brought them to the Cycle, how their lives have been changed by the first year of the teachings and what it's like to be supported in transformation by a contemporary shamanic community.

How to Live Well Despite Capitalist Patriarchy w/Trista Hendren

Creator of The Girl God series, Trista Hendren, formerly of Portland, OR, now living in Norway, discusses with me today how to Live Well Despite Capitalism Patriarchy, the title of her new book. Trista and I will delve into how we contribute to our osn subordination under Capitalism Patriarchy, how we can break free and the irony of many of us not getting paid for feminist work. Out chat will include discussion of self-care for women, how to demand more in their relationships, and how we might create true Sisterhood despite our wounds. The Equal Pay Act will be a topic, as will how living in Norway has shaped Trista's views in terms of what is possible in other countries.
