SPIRITUAL PRACTICE:
Ritual & Meditation

ALTARS OF THE WORLD: Volume I: The Eastern Religions, Volume II: The Western Religions (video/2 tape set)
This extraordinary program examines 6 of the world's great religions and the influential offshoots that have emerged over the centuries. Rituals that are usually closed to those outside of various faiths are depicted here.

SIMPLIFIED MAGIC: A Beginners Guide to the New Age Qabala by Ted Andrews
You say Qabala. I say Kaballah. Let's call the whole thing off. However you spell it or pronounce it, the study and practice of Jewish mysticism is enjoying a lot of press, thanks in no small part to proponants like Madonna. Before you jump off the deep end, let me remind you that this practice has been restricted in it's proliferation for legitimate reasons. Orthodox Jews require that students be of at least 35 years of age and many place more elaborate strictures on it's study. Before you undertake a spiritual practice of this magnitude, be prepared to have your karmic issues forced to the surface and the cleansing may not be comfortable. That being said, I strongly recommend this book as one of the most cautiously presented, and safest introductions I've seen. It is a great jumping off point to deeper study and the exercises can be practiced without injury as near as I can tell.

MORE SIMPLIFIED MAGIC: Pathworking and the Tree of Life by Ted Andrews
More from a reliable source on the Qabala. This book addresses the more in depth meditations of pathworking. I don't personally feel that pathworking is for novice practitioners and strongly recommend starting with the first book in the series.

SACRED SPACE: Clearing and Enhancing the Energy of Your Home by Denise Linn
Your home environment can be the most sacred site in your life. It is, afterall, a place where we spend a lot of our time and seek nourishment and restoration. The thing I love about this book is that covers not only the classic Asian art of placement, Feng Shui, but other cultural approaches to the energy management of living spaces.

WALKING A SACRED PATH: Rediscovering the Labyrinth As a Spiritual Tool by Dr. Lauren Artress
I am fortunate enough to have a monthly labyrinth walk in my area. Artress, an Episcopal Priest and Canon of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, shares both the history of this ancient practice and her own personal reflections on its role as a reconnecting tool in the modern world.
