IN SEARCH OF THE WARRIOR SPIRIT by Richard Strozzi Heckler
Intriguing true life story of a martial artist hired by the military to work with elite special forces units. The author was part of a team of experts in various body-mind disciplines, who were brought on board in the hopes that they could expand the capabilities of the modern soldier.

ON KILLING: The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill in War and Society by Dave Grossman
This seminal work by psychologist and Special Forces officer Grossman probes deeply into the mechanism that allows one human being to kill another. Drawing from his own personal experiences and that of many veterans, Grossman establishes that almost all human beings have an innate aversion to killing, even in wartime.
